Europe's most relevant exhibition of emerging fashion art and design

Every two years something so extraordinary happens that it is difficult to explain, every 730 days the city of Bilbao vibrates with a project that 12 years ago seemed crazy.

Yesterday the international exhibition that unites the 30 finalists of the sixth edition of our contest – in which 1,673 participants from 90 countries participated.

The show has once again been created by Pedro Pérez de Zorrozua and his team. Zorrozua is the ideologist of all our exhibitions, who with talent, work and a lot of creativity, get excited and excited with each flash of LED or each note of the musical composition of this year. Because their creations are a demonstration that art can be interactive and that we can live a unique experience strolling through the # BIAAF2018 mecanotubos.

In such a special meeting, we were accompanied by Imanol Pradales (Provincial Council of Bizkaia), Xabier Otxandiano (City Council of Bilbao) and Cristina San Salvador (BBK Foundation) who were in charge of delivering the prizes to the three winners: Gabriela Iturbe (Colombia) , best garment designer; Jimmy Junichi (UK), best accessories designer and Eneko Iturbe, best designer in the Basque Country.

Likewise, the winners were also covered by the team of Maite Tuset, MAC artistic director, who in the days leading up to the inauguration offered the designers of BIAAF a masterclass on the latest trends in catwalk makeup.

All this would not be possible without the great team, rather, without the great family that form BIAAF and that every day we get up with the idea of transforming the creative industries of Bilbao-Bizkaia leading our commitment to youth employability and quality education .
