DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
The collection is made out of three outfits. I used motives from the world of computer games, in some cases for draping and the pattern, and in other cases for the prints. The draping and the quilting that I did over the prints create the volume and the shape of the garments.
The starting point of my design was Takashi Murakami’s art works. I find it really interesting to see how this contemporary artist takes historical episodes from Japan’s DNA and translates them into his crazy digital cartoonish paintings.
The main material that I used is Neoprene which I printed on with digital print. I created the prints according to the pattern using Photoshop and Illustrator. I also quilted on the printed areas and filled the quilt with acrilan.
