DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

 

Wake up call to society that from dawn of history doesn’t allow to deviate from heterosexual, patriarchal and militaristic narrative. We have become accustomed to living in a violent and masculine society operating under the guise of a Western and democratic state. An avant-garde women’s collection that re-examines defined boundaries

INSPIRATION

 

The collection enables to tell my personal story, about the emotions I felt when I realized I’m a lesbian, my military service in a male-dominated environment, and the significance of living in a country with mandatory conscription. The colors were taken from the paintings of the artist Judith Bernstein

MATERIALS USED

I create by using military materials, such as nylons and camouflage nets, which, by changing their purpose and place, take on a new meaning. In addition, use iconic items associated with the lesbian community such as the Perfecto jacket, faux leather and binder used by lesbians to flatten the chest
