DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

 

Travelling blind investigates various concepts, travel and migration; around its main core, blindness.Moving away from the literal thinking that prevails in the industry, the research results in a sustainable philosophy that aims to bring people closer to nature.In this way, it explores men’s clothing from an unisex approach.

INSPIRATION

 

As humans, it is in our nature to travel, to journey beyond home.Travelling can metaphorically blind people as they negotiate expression of freedom amongs new fears and difficulties within unfamiliar context.Before the pandemic we moved frequently, dismantling and building our homes as we went.With the current pandemic this has ceased.

MATERIALS USED

Throughout the process of creating our pieces we have engaged with sustainable otions to reform both, the production line and consumer behaviour.Rough materials, thick woollen fibers, recycled coffee bags, recycled plastic bags and mud-dye japanese fabrics gives the project earthy textures and colour palette attempting to fulfila conscious resposibility.
