DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

 

The name of this collection is Pollution art. Inspired by Korea’s old anecdotes, I put Korean traditional printing on contaminated fabric and recreated it with beautiful clothes.

INSPIRATION

 

I was inspired by Shinsaimdang who was a frist lady of Korea 500 years ago. There is some story about her Wine Spilled On Her Friend’s Skirt and the grape water went into the white skirt.She told her friend to take her skirt off and drew a picture on it.

MATERIALS USED

Contaminating the fabric with coffee and wine and then print a Korean traditional painting art called “ink wash painting”. The Western fabric was used outside and the oriental fabric was used inside. Western fabric were mainly wool and polyester, while oriental materials were silk.
