On November 28th, CREAMODA took place at Bilbao Exposition Center. A national contest for young designers where Janire Olano won with her Delo’ne Collection.
CreaModa is an annual competition where young Spaniard designers have a chance to show their collections on the runway. This was a special edition because many of our outstanding designers were finalists, names like Usune Bravo, María Blanco, Miguel Angel Lima, Igone Cabrerizo, Yaiza Txakartegi and Andrea Martínez. All of them part of our program with Central Saint Martins for two years in a row.
Amazing creativity, innovation and hard work which have led to a year with an increase of quality among the Basque Designers. We found geometric patchwork, painting treatments and new textures that are focused on the understanding of the social context of today’s world.
Silvia Gallego, María Uranga, José Iraolagoitia from Hitz, Sara Campillo from Atakontu and Jota+Ge’s creators Juana Ruiz and Garbiñe Urdampilleta were this edition jury members. They selected Janire Olano as winner. Andrea Martínez with her collection Mount had a special prize of an internship at Jota+Ge.
Congratulations to all participants especially to our designers for showing so much talent and marvelous new collections. We are really proud of you and we will keep working to see you achieve success.
