The Winners of the 10th Edition of BIAAF

The 10th edition of BIAAF – Bilbao International Art & Fashion has come to a close, celebrating a new generation of outstanding fashion talent from around the world. Following a record-breaking edition that attracted 1,995 applications from 91 countries, Bilbao once again became the meeting point for emerging designers shaping the future of fashion.

Held at the Museum of Sacred Art in Bilbao, the Grand Final brought together the 30 finalists in the Fashion Design and Accessory Design categories. Selected from nearly two thousand submissions, their collections showcased exceptional creativity, innovation, craftsmanship and a forward-thinking vision of contemporary fashion.

Lan Krebs Wins the Fashion Design Award

The jury awarded the Fashion Design Prize to Lan Krebs for Jersey Diversity, a research-driven project that reimagines industrial knitwear through subtle textile interventions.

The collection creates striking sculptural volumes without relying on conventional seams, drawing inspiration from the organic complexity of natural structures. By combining technical innovation with an experimental approach to knitwear, Krebs presents a compelling new perspective on contemporary garment construction.

Sara Genin Receives the Accessory Design Award

The Accessory Design Prize was awarded to Sara Genin for Syrphidae, a conceptual collection inspired by the mimicry of insects.

Using lost-wax casting techniques, Genin transforms sculptural jewellery into a medium for exploring healing, resilience and the female body. The result is a powerful collection that combines craftsmanship, symbolism and artistic expression.

Both winners received a €10,000 prize, together with the international visibility and professional opportunities that BIAAF offers as one of the leading platforms supporting emerging fashion designers worldwide.

Honouring a Remarkable Career

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the KM0 Honorary Award to Basque designer Usune Bravo.

A former BIAAF scholarship recipient at Central Saint Martins, Bravo’s international career perfectly reflects the long-term impact of the platform. Her professional journey embodies BIAAF’s mission to identify, support and empower the next generation of fashion talent.

Looking Towards the Future

The 10th edition of BIAAF once again demonstrated that creativity knows no borders. The finalists, representing some of the world’s leading fashion schools, presented projects where sustainability, innovation, experimentation and cultural diversity played a central role.

As BIAAF celebrates this milestone edition, it reaffirms its commitment to discovering and promoting the designers who will shape the future of fashion while continuing to position Bilbao as an international hub for emerging creativity, design and artistic excellence.
