VATANI MAN, meaning “my homeland” in Tajik, connects traditional Tajik embroidery with contemporary fashion. The collection explores how cultural identity can be preserved and reinterpreted through fashion. VATANI MAN is an artistic statement on identity, migration, and cultural bridges.
The inspiration comes from visual memories of the homeland and the experiences that have shaped the designer. These memories are translated into drawings and paintings, which become the main inspiration for the collection. These artworks, rooted in heritage, are transformed into prints that define its visual language.
The collection combines traditional Tajik hand embroidery developed in collaboration with Tajik artisans through the NGO Ozara, which supports women from vulnerable backgrounds. This collaboration enables them to generate their own income and achieve financial independence, while preserving traditional craftsmanship.
