The design incorporates an influence of deconstruction, reconstruction and African silhouettes. It is composed of three predominantly white garments demonstrating a variety of fabric development techniques, vacuum forming, felting, knitting, sewing and embroidery. The textures are reminiscent of skin imperfections due to lack of pigment and exposure to the sun.

My inspiration was a work of art by Anca Gray composed of broken eggshells on a white background. This triggered a memory of an attack of an albino man while I was volunteering with street children in Africa in 2014. In some societies, Albinos are considered to be “bewitched” and are persecuted and even killed. My work is entitled “Albinos” and is dedicated to their beauty, uniqueness and their contribution to the human condition.
