The project “Reality ~ Reality’” reactivates the physical senses to counter numbness caused by escapism. Through specially designed “receptacles” that shift from empty shells into tangible extensions of the body, it explores bodily weight via limbs, prosthetics, and garments, heightening awareness through intentional, weight-sensing positions.
The project is inspired by Trainspotting (1996), which portrays an addict’s desire to return to a normal life. The film’s appreciation of ordinary existence resonates with the designer and prompts reflection on cycles of avoidance and numbness. It explores how everyday experiences can reawaken sensory perception and encourage a return to present reality.
