“KLEINKARIERT”
This collection is his proposal for bringing traditional menswear (tailoring) into the contemporary by combination with references to current street and sportswear, filling wearable silhouettes with exciting prints and fabrics made with techniques like laser cutting, sublimation printing and weaving, with the same approach to his self-made accessories.
He was inspired by contrasting office men restricted by rules and dress codes with liberated counterparts like sprayers and hooligans. He kept many of the classic proportions and items from the office association and brought them into the sporty world of hooligans rather in subtle shapes, colors, and details.
For this project he sourced many fabrics, buttons, girdles etc. from private sellers on eBay and from small labels (Humanoid, About Companions) selling/donating their leftover fabrics. In the end, over 60 % of final materials were second hand. He used mainly classic menswear fabrics, wool blends, cottons, twills and denim.
