Cover the reality
The balance in nature is a leading philosophy in the whole mood – seeking the symbiotic relationship between antiquity and the contemporary, the nature and the man. The collection consists of zero waste patterns. In the silhouettes there is layering, playfulness through the fabric manipulations, prints, and visual illusion.
The collection is about the magical mist that covers our reality from ancient times. It is based on Bulgarian rituals and feasts and the work of the Italian Transavantgarde artist – Mimmo Paladino – the way he captures the primitive, and locks it in a contemporary monument.
I used natural fabrics and yarns and old upcycled materials (some of which have synthetic content). There are varieties of fabric manipulations including custom weaving, crocheting, felting, prints on linen. There are wooden and metal details and gelatin based bioplastic. Special touches are the wooden branches covered with silver.
