Spring Report
These are the key items of the ‘Spring Report’ collection. It consists of three styles: <Tube Wear, Amazed Eyes Wear, and Cloud Wear>. Each eyewear represents ‘the atmosphere, cultural shock, and freedom of the Adriatic Sea’. The collection’s mood was expressed through direct staging, and making art pieces wearable adds an interesting perspective.
During a trip to southern Italy, an area unfamiliar to Asians, Kim experienced cultural shock. “I documented this moment through photos and notes. Based on all these emotions and experiences, I created the ‘Spring Report’ collection, which captures memories and impressions of a deep and diverse cultural journey in Italy. Each piece reflects the beauty and unique atmosphere of the place. Through this, ‘Spring Report’ has become a special artwork representing my journey and sensibility beyond fashion”.
In his creation, he focused most on expressing ‘Spring Report’, emphasizing the emotion, which is the design aspect. The glasses were made wearable. Materials such as eyeglass sheets and acetate were used. Thus, materials commonly used in eyewear production, including CNC cutting and sandpaper, were used in manufacturing.
