“Second Chances“ showcases the struggles ex-convicts have to overcome on their way to rehabilitation. And how they are met with prejudice and unwillingness to forgive by society. The goal for this collection is to make people rethink how they see ex-convicts and give them a second chance.
Rebuilding trust after it has been broken is probably one of the most difficult things to do, especially if only one party is trying to rebuild it. This collection is meant to show both the struggles of ex-convicts as well as what society sees in them.
The striped fabric was donated by a German penitentiary, the fabric used to be bedsheets. In combination with other donated and leftover fabrics with various textures the collection is a representation of the many obstacles an ex-convict has to navigate to get a chance at rehabilitation.
