The Brick is a steel box covered in black leather, with an asymmetrically rounded wooden lid, painted in black. The Bucket is constructed from steel panels covered in orange leather, draped leather body and magnetic handle. The Box is a black Perspex clutch bag, accentuated with stainless steel angle section.
The collection was inspired by the construction units of the Royal College of Art Darwin building (H. T. Cadbury Brown, 1962), and steel sculptures by Richard Serra. It stemmed from the expressive language and technical properties of materials, especially the relationship between leather and metal
The collection comprises four different materials: leather, steel, wood and Perspex. The three designs are tied together by the construction-oriented approach to design, using metal as core support system and playing with hidden – surprising – or exposed components, and heavily tactile contrast between the different materials.
