I knitted my collection by hand on a 40 year old domestic knitting machine which allows me to stop the knitting, open the two beds and put the materials between the two knitted layers. My goal is to mix unusual materials with knitting and give modernity and freshness to the pieces knitted by hand.
My collection was inspired by structure, transparency and architecture. I mixed the simple and feminine shapes with straight lines, repetitive, geometric patterns. I’m against fast fashion production. I used the rest of my yarn to create this collection and the hand knitting is a very slowly, meticulous and contemplative method like authentic traditional handcraft.
Main fibers: Viscose cotton, lycra and wool. Use tubular horsehair and wadding between the two layers of knitted fabric. The tubular horsehair gave the resulting stitch thickness and at the same time gives it a translucent appearance and also allows me to shape very light knit fabric. wadding gave the garments a structured and padded look.
