DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
“Lethargy”, dreams preamble. The space in between two worlds there the dreams are remembered as real stories. The collection stops at the three more important moments of the dream world: Prehistoric Time, Ancient Egypt and the Contemporary Era.
The collection is inspired in dreams, the unconscious and their simbology through history. Especially on the most significant aspects: the evolution of the knowledge of the dreams, the dreams sequence’s meaning since the old civilization to the psychoanalysis of them expressed for example by Surrealism.
The fabrics chosen stand out by their stiffness: Neoprene and ottoman. In them you can find brush-strokes as if they were canvasses. As a contrast, you can also find delicate fabrics such as gauze and suede, giving them a dreamy aesthetic. Also with prints and embroidery the dreams from the unconscious mind are captured.
