En Honor a Judith Scott
DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
A rough, rustic and intuitive embroidery. The garments try to reflect the strength found in Judith Scott’s sculptures.
The shapes of the garments are inspired on the sculptures’ silhouettes. The light change in the structures gives them a unique beauty that only one chromosome can give to people like her.
As an outsider artist, with down syndrome and deaf-mute, Judith Scott found her language through sculpture art with knots and wraps.
This collection was born from the admiration, respect and love that her art work make me feel for her. That is why it is simply called “In Judith Scott’s honour”.
The garments are made with twill weave with multicolor marbled and knitted with different color and thickness wool. It was structured by interlining and wadding. Lined with cotton. Finished with embroidered tulle and knitted wool.
