DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
Bombastic silhouettes who form a man collection by using a mixture of feminine materials and colliding rough/soft materials with details of the construction site.Protecting, overshadowing, and masculinity are expressed by the puffers all the way till the shoes. All in clash with forms of masculinity form other communities across the globe.
Growing up as the son of a construction worker I was taught a misconception of masculinity and adjusted to this image. later discovering that masculinity goes further than the macho chlicheés I was seeing. Looking at communities as the natives of New Orleans where men are respected by other Capacities and looks.
Challenging myself by using a lot of coupons, to experiment and create new combinations. Canvas cotton, corduroy and synthetic fabrics next to colored matelasse and ostrich feathers. Co/ SE checks shirting and lining. feathers painted to give the rough and hard look/ feel and linen coated with materials from the construction site to create latex rib velour.
