Kintsukuroi

DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

 

Kintsukuroi is a collaborative project that goes beyond fashion. Gather scraps of cotton fabric, which intrinsically tell stories of past lives, building new futures.

INSPIRATION

 

Kintsukuroi takes as its main source of inspiration the traditional Japanese aesthetic or wabi-sabi. Thanks to the work of Ibrahim Mahama, it has been unified or created a fictional scenario of a dystopian Japan.

MATERIALS USED

It is a project built from cotton textile fragments, donations by people committed to creating a different fashion system. Monomateriality has been chosen to facilitate its recyclability, which is why it is dyed with natural dyes that do not interfere with its recycling process.
