Roosters Generation
DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
‘Roosters generation’ is a nonbinary approached garment collection that represents the balance of industrial and hand-made couture selection of knitwear. The use of fibre and silhouette is willing to open discussion and criticize our current values and stigma of gender comparisons that are still currently actual.
INSPIRATION
Collection is inspired from the discussion of how gender identities, human behaviour, aesthetics of clothing and act of dressing up are heavily influenced by culture. It showcases elements from the designer’s childhood of having grown up in the 90s and inspiration from Agnolo Bronzino painting with a mix of inspiration from the movie ‘Orlando’ released on 1993.
MATERIALS USED
The collection presents a unique combination of handcrafted and industrially produced knitwears. The collection includes pieces that were crafted in a German industrial knit factory and hand-knitted mohair garments from Estonia. The knitwear consist of cotton, wool, viscose and monofilament. Post-consumer waste leftovers are from silk and old boots.
