DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

 

Hand stitching, tearing, natural elements, gives the garments a hand crafted, coarse look, deforming and covering the femenine body with different textures and layers. The final result is brief intimate, introspective compendium in three different states.

INSPIRATION

 

I have taken Ana Mendieta’s work and her special bond to Nature as a starting point.I have tried to experiment with her way of working, immersing myself in my own imagery and roots.Connecting with Earth and extracting its materials, shapes and textures.

MATERIALS USED

Wool knits and wool felting, cotton knits, linens, silks, nets…Materials chosen for having something special, most of all are leftovers with some outstanding blemish: tearings, identity number codes…
